term twooooo! :)

term one was not a bad start. time has flown somewhat quickly, since we are already receiving our report cards already! I wished i had worked a little harder, done more of my assignments (especially english) and studied more (for french) but my marks are okay. They are not as high as i wanted it to be, but i will have to work harder i guess :P But besides marks, events at carver have been really fun. the main one was ignite. it was A LOT of fun and i laughed so many times during that day. THe skits were all really cool though. ANDDDDD MY CLASS WON THE IGNITE CUP! YAAAY
:) already the school year has just started, but there are already tons of memories :)
IT class is my favorite i have to say. Well it is tied between french (the day we do games) but IT is a cool class. Its much more relaxed, which is why i like it alot. I did learn a lot about excel and it was my first time using photoshop! :) as much as i love school, i cant wait for the winter break and snow!! :)

3rd world farmer

today we played a game called 3rd world farmer. it made me think of how blessed we are and how we take so many things for advantages. Everyone died at least more than 2 times in the game, and only 1-4 people are doing really well. It is really hard to make the right choices if you are in 3rd world because you never know what happens. this game makes you think about how lucky we are, and how since we are blessed, we should try to help everyone.
This game is fun, but it is also frustrating at the same time.

Google Maps

Today, Mr. Cheng showed us how to use google maps. It was really cool and creepy at the same time that you can see your house. I googled mapped my house, and i could see both of my cars parked, which meant we were probably in the house when the google car went by. Usually my cat would be sitting at the window, but this time i didnt see it. It's really cool that you can see other places, and its cool that you can navigate around on it.

3d animation

Today we are looking at 3D animation! 3D animation to me is amazing, and i wish i could make a really cool 3d film, but it looks really really hard. :P 3D animation is really cool, and its amazing how many things you can do with it. There are so many examples of 3D animation movies on youtube! And it's great because so many people can use and try to do it. If you are really good, you can even make a career out of it. Being a 3d animator for movies is an awesome job, and i wished i knew how to use animation really well. My favorite 3d animation was this :



It was very creative, and it made me very hungry after watching it! :D it was really cool how they used the different parts of the food to attack the other food objects :D

today was photo day. I reallly really dislike photo day, cause i can't smile naturally. Also, today was a day where my hair didn't look that great :P
So as we were lining up, we were all giggling and laughing and a bit nervous because we wanted our photos to look nice! So i was trying to calm myself down, and then it was my turn. I smile (which i thought was a good smile), but as the photographer was giving me more directions to sit farther back, lift chin up, turn head, the usual, i could feel a laugh coming up. So of course i did a weird, strange smile and than he took the picture == To conclude, I'm pretty sure I look super weird in my picture, but ohwell, i only have to have it for a year :D
Also, to me, looks aren't super super important, but its always nice to look good for picture day ! (:

NEW SCHOOL YEAR! my goals and plans (:

For the new school year, i have many new plans and goals that i want to achieve.
For school, i want do my best in all of my subjects and try to get straight A's, and try my hardest in all of my assignments. I want to try being a peer mediator, but i'm not sure about it.
Other plans i have for the year, is to practice well in my piano. I am also taking harmony, and history for my piano, so one day i might be able to teach piano. I want to finish all of the levels and to do well. I am also taking up chinese class again, because i want to do well in my ethnicity's language :D
I hope that i can stick with all my goals and plans, but still have time to hang out with my friends and enjoy this school year :D

IT ROBOTS!

Today in I.T, we learned about the different robots and looked at some of them on youtube.
There was a Topio robot, that played pingpong, and the Honda Asimo robot that can walk, run and dance.
The Asimo robot, fell once which i thought looked pretty funny.

But, even though the robot fell, this is technology beyond of what i can understand :D
I think that the whole idea of robot technology is amazing, it is like making an artificial brain, but i think that in a couple of years, when we can make automated machines for almost everything, we'll have to be careful or they might take over the world! Like in terminator for instance (:

None the less, the creation of the human brain that God made, is the most amazing, and no robots can be better than that :D

this is my first blog ever,
i'm in IT class, and i have smelly charlene next to me,
and even smellier elie on the other side. hahahaha

anyways, i will talk about our Rockridge retreat (:

The bus ride to Rockridge was soo long, but we got to sit in the nice tour buses so it was okay :) I slept for a loong time, around 2 hours i think, and sat next to anntanya. We finally arrived at Rockridge and we were all very happy (:
Rockridge, is a very beautiful place to begin with, and the cabins were nice and the bathrooms were really big so we were happy :D
The area is humungous and the pool was very nice and big. We could have gone ziplining, rope courses or go on the lake and on the blob.
I wanted to go hiking, but none of my close friends wanted to go, so i missed the hike :( but it was okay, because i had a long talk with Jasmyn :D
On the second day, i went into the pool because it was very very sunny that day :D the water was very nice and cool, but freezing when you stood up and got out of the pool because there was a breeze.
ohyah! The food at Rockridge is AMAZING. Everything was delicious and we all ate a lot :D
On the bus ride back, the gr 10's were supposedly to go on the yellow school bus and the gr 9's go on the tour bus, because they went on the school bus on the way to Rockridge. But unfortunetly and fortunetly there weren't enough room on the bus for all the grade 10's. So the grade 10's that were at the end of the line got to go on one of the nice tour buses. BUT in the grade 9 tour bus, there were still 7 seats left, AND since it was janice's birthday, she got to pick 7 people to go on the tour bus with her, and one of the person she picked was me!! :D So, i got to go on the nice bus on the way back too. whee :)
All in all, Rockridge was amazing, the worship was very good, and I could see God's love in the room. It was amazing :)
